Description | A study of current issues that impact addiction counseling. Special populations, dual diagnosis, ethics, gambling, and infectious diseases associated with addiction counseling will be investigated. Identify sources of contemporary information regarding the treatment of substance abuse in special populations. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Delineate approaches used in reaching out to and providing treatment for special populations. 5. In most cases the blackboard assignments and discussion board assignments are locked after the posted due time and date, and you will not have access without contacting me to open it back up for access. Late assignments can be counted off 10 points for every day they are late. . Only Medical excuses, or other excused absences will be considered as valid reasons to receive a full grade on late work. Direct communication to instructor will be required for approval of late or excused work. Quizzes or tests will be a combination of multiple choices, fill in the blanks and essay. Generally, Tests , exams, or quizzes can only be completed late with permission of instructor, and must be a medical reason for taking a test or exam late. No final exams will be allowed after the date assigned. |

Contacting Instructor: Preferred method of contact: I am available most efficiently through Email at all times during the day. All course business will be conducted through email, phone calls or video calls. It is HIGHLY encouraged that students check email often, generally daily. Changes made to course content, deadlines, school issues, general announcements will be communicated via email that pertain to the course and to the campus. This is very similar to your career as a counselor. In the real world of clinical work, email is utilized daily. Learning to stay up to date with email now, will serve you well in the field. Professional communication is expected when writing an email. If you are unsure what that entails, please don't hesitate to ask, and I gladly assist you in learning to communicate as a professional. Note: I will not discuss grades, due dates, course assignments, tests, discussion board assignments via text. |
